Tips for a
Successful Portrait
1)
Decide on a simplified colour
scheme and harmonious fashion style.
2) Avoid large or bold
patterns and logos. Subtle prints or solid colours are more flattering.
3) Stick to classic
clothes; You still want to love your photo in ten years time.
4) Textures such as
lace, velvet and denim photograph well.
5) Don't get your hair
cut the day before. Leave it at least a week between having the cut and
the portrait so it looks settled.
6) Adult women should
wear their make up as they normally do. Excessive make up, if not
normally worn, will not make you feel comfortable.
7) Have young children
well rested.
8) If a certain toy
always brings a smile to your child's face, bring it along.
9) Personal items can
add warmth and meaning to the portrait. You may bring along a musical
instrument, pet (we love animals!), favourite toy, book, hat or other
item that is relevant to your character.
